Today the students of Room 15 tried out a new way to respond to literature using a website called Padlet. It acts as a virtual bulletin board with virtual post-it notes.
The students really enjoyed reading the responses from each other.
Today in class, as a group, we played the original Oregon Trail game. (It brought back many fond memories for me!)
We talked a lot about how each choice made during the game had some type of consequence. I was so impressed with the thought processes of the students!
I promised them I would include the link so that they can play at home! (Yes.....they loved it that much!)
The students are using a blog format to complete activities for the novel study of By the Great Horn Spoon. I wanted to pass along the link for the blog. I will also put it in the "Important Links" tab.
Has your child come home and told you about Room 15 participating in a Mystery Skype? If you have no idea what they are talking about, watch the video below which perfectly explains it!
Earlier this year we participated in a California Regions Mystery Skype and last week we participated in a Catholic Schools Week Mystery Skype with a 3rd grade class in Omaha, Nebraska!
